The March Of The Wounded Healers

The army destined to gather in the last day's harvest before Jesus comes is not an army of perfect people. Instead it is an army of people who have been wounded, hurt, broken and crushed yet who have been healed of their scars and have been given authority for healing in the areas of their hurt. This army is an army of wounded healers.

By Chris McDonald

TEXT: Isa. 53:5 - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Song 6:10 - Who is she that looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?

Jer 30:17-19 - For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeks after. Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwelling places; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof. And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

There is a powerful renewal and move coming to the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, yet it is a move that most will miss because of religious pride and arrogance. Others will miss it because of blindness to God’s purposes. Some will know what is happening and still refuse to accept it because of traditional teachings, which have not given them light, but instead put them in religious bondage. There is a powerful church coming forth and its going to be a church that has recovered both the message and the ministry of the first church in the book of Acts. The first century church literally shook the world for Jesus Christ with very little in comparison to the blessings and affluence of the modern church, especially the church in America.

Acts 11:19-21 - Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

The church has been called to "equip" the saints for ministry. Sadly, many ministers and ministries have been through previous rejections without being healed of the hurt associated with those rejections. Many have often taken a next assignment with a determination to prove themselves to others, which causes them to put unrealistic pressure not only on themselves, but also on the church they are called to. Instead of leading the flock of the Lord, they wind up hurting the sheep and walking  in a vicious cycle that leaves a long line of hurt people, broken congregations and splintered ministries. The minister leads a ministry that is either too bitter or too insecure to function under the anointing God has granted through His grace and mercy. It's not just ministers and ministries who continually embrace unresolved guilt through unhealed wounds. Bitterness and insecurity are two of the main reasons people in general fall away from God through backsliding.

In Rick Joyner's book, "The Church and the 21rst Century,”  he believes part of the problem with our hurts is we yoke ourselves and other with unrealistic expectations that the Lord never wants us to take on.

“When we know that we have received our calling and commission from above and that we are KNOWN by the Father, it never really matters what men really think of us. This is a liberation that is essential for any minister. We cannot function in true ministry if we are carrying any other yoke but the Lord’s. We must not allow ourselves to be controlled by human expectations, even our own expectations, but the Lord’s. He NEVER EVER expect of us what He does not empower us to perform.”Acts 12:11 - And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Peter’s deliverance out of prison was more than from just the hands of Herod. It was from the EXPECTATION of the Jewish people. People expect things from us. Sometimes those expectations are good and some are not so good. The people wanted Peter dead and they EXPECTED to see it happen. Many of us have those around us including family members who expect us to fail no matter what we set our hand to. That brings tremendous pressure on us to "prove" ourselves to them. In addition, even when people expect good things of us and we don’t measure up, then we wind up feeling condemned by that when in reality the ONLY expectation God has of us is simple – LOVE HIM and LOVE OTHERS. Not reaching our own expectations and the expectations of others usually dictates the main reason for hurt among people, not only in the Body of Christ, but the entire world.

Micah 6:8 - He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Jesus the Example of Handling Rejection and Hurt

Jesus experienced the greatest rejection the world has ever known or ever will know. He was rejected by the world that He Himself had made. He came in love, healing and delivering the oppressed, and He never once committed a sin. Yet, He suffered the most cruel and humiliating death, and He suffered it for the very ones who killed Him. He turned the greatest evil and the greatest injustice the world has ever known into the opportunity to forgive and save the very ones who persecuted Him. When He appeared to Joshua in the Old Testament as the captain of the Lord’s Hosts, He told Joshua He wasn’t there to take sides, He was there to TAKE OVER. When Jesus takes over a situation, even the enemies of the Lord are changed. Just as His plans were to SAVE Israel’s enemies if they would repent of their idolatry and sin, so is His plan for the world today. It’s not the will of God any should perish, then, or now.

Josh 5:13-15 - And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon you stand is holy. And Joshua did so.

The Lord commanded those who followed Him to do the same thing. We must take up our crosses every day just as He did. By doing so we have the power to overcome evil with good. Every evil that is done has the counterbalancing power to be used for good that will deliver men from evil that is in them. As ministers of the gospel we are meant to be rejected, but we must turn EVERY REJECTION into an opportunity to SHOW THE LOVE OF GOD.

Rom 12:14-21 - Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as is in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shall heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Authority for Healing

It is by the Lord’s stripes that we are healed. The same principle is true for us as well. In the very place where we are wounded we can receive authority for healing. The church that is coming forth will be a church of wounded people, but it will be a church of WOUNDED HEALERS who have received authority FROM THE LORD JESUS in the area of their hurts and rejections. If we have been abused we will receive authority for healing others who are abused once we are healed. Even when we are healed we will remain sensitive in that area. This sensitivity will then lead to great discernment, NOT FAULTFINDING, so that we will quickly recognize others who have suffered as we have. This sensitivity also enables us to minister in the compassion that is required for true ministry. Jesus seldom shows up at our churches today because most of us judge those who have been wounded and hurt instead of recognizing that they belong to the great army of wounded healers who are coming forth.

The truth of the matter is this. WE ARE ALL WOUNDED. NO one is exempt from this. WE HAVE ALL BEEN WOUNDED BY SIN. It may not mean we were drug addicts or prostitutes or homosexuals but we all were lost without God when the Lord Jesus reached down and touched us. There was a time when we had no way of knowing the ways of the Lord except for the mercy of the Lord that reached out to us. It is for this reason that the Lord allowed every wound that we have suffered in our lives – so that He could give us authority for healing in those same areas. That is why Paul pointed to his wounds and tribulations when his authority was in question. Don’t waste your trials. They are really more precious than gold. What value could be placed upon a single healing? James said MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT.

2 Cor 12:2-10 - I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Paul appealed to the Corinthians that his authority to be their spiritual father was given to him by God. He pointed to four things that granted him this authority – REVELATION, HUMILITY, SUFFERING, and EMBRACING WEAKNESS. Peter said our trials were more precious than gold. Instead of us bellyaching and complaining about our wounds and hurts, we must learn to "GLORY" in our infirmities, in reproaches and in necessities for it is in those things that  the power of Christ rests upon us. I want the power of the Lord Jesus to rest upon me. No matter how embarrassing the Lord may have to make me feel at times. It’s not a call for the weak in heart. Spiritual authority and authority for healing come with a great price. The Lord was so committed to the Apostle Paul He gave him a demon messenger to keep him in a place of humility in spite of revelations into the third heaven. Paul said when he was WEAK, then he was STRONG. When we’ve been wounded, the truth of the matter is that HEALING is right around the corner and God’s glory is about to be revealed in us to others! It means we are being enlisted in the army of wounded healers the Holy Spirit is training for service in the last few hours before Jesus comes.

1 Pet 1:7-9 - That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

James 2:13 - For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

The Lord is FAR more patient with men usually before we are. We are very quick to pronounce judgment. However, the love of the Lord covers a MULTITUDE OF SINS. Furthermore, one of the attributes of love in 1 Corinthians 13 is that "love is patient," "suffers long." We tend to put time frames on that. That’s why our parents' parents didn’t know much about great theological things in their day – BUT THEY KNEW HOW TO STAY TOGETHER because they recognized the POWER OF LOVE. Paul said LOVE will conquer all.

He Was Wounded for our Transgressions

The word wounded comes from the Hebrew word, "chalal," which means to profane, to defile, to pollute, to desecrate, to begin to pollute oneself ritually and sexually. It also means to violate the honor of, to dishonor as in the sense of dishonoring a covenant or profaning the name of God. It also has the connotation of being wounded fatally, to bore through or to pierce, to be slain.

Isa 53:5 - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed

In response to the wounds Jesus bore on His back, we were HEALED by His stripes and in addition, given AUTHORITY to heal others as His people. We have been given the keys to the kingdom. We are called to be an army of wounded healers.  The word "healed" in this same passage means "rapha' or raphah" which is actually one of the names of God – Jehovah-Rapah which was revealed to Moses in Exodus 15:26:

Exod 15:26-27 - And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

The people had just came from MARAH, the place of bitter waters. God had showed Moses a tree to cast into those waters to make them sweet.

Exod 15:22-24 - So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

This is a beautiful picture of what Isaiah spoke about. It was CALVARY, the tree on which Jesus died that broke the power of Satan over our lives and the power of the wounds that he inflicts upon every saint at one time or other. The only remedy for the bitter waters of life is the life of the Lord Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection. It was by His stripes our bitter waters were made sweet. The word "rapah" means to heal; to make healthful by God; to be a healer, a physician (of men). It is also used of the hurts of nations involving restored favor and used of individual distresses. It speaks of healing national defects or hurts, or generational hurts and problems.   Some of us, if not all, have wounds or defects from our past that only God can heal. Some of these defects have brought curses on us from our forefathers. Many of us don’t know why we are like we are and the truth is that more than likely we are being oppressed by the same spirits our forefathers have been afflicted with.

Exod 20:5-6 - Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Interestingly enough the word for "stripe" is chabbuwrah (khab-boo-raw'); which means to bound (with stripes), a weal (or black-and-blue mark itself). It’s translated in the KJV as either blueness, bruise, hurt, strip or wound. It was the area of the hurt of the Lord Jesus that the power of Satan was broken over MANY GENERATIONS. He became a mark or bruise for us to heal those who were bruised by Satan. He who knew no sin became sin for us that we might not only be reconciled to God but we may become an army of wounded healers healing others as Jesus did.

Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

2 Cor 5:18-21 - And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

The Spirit of the Lord is Upon Me

Luke 4:17-19 - And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Heb 2:17-18 - Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.

Heb 5:7-9 - Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Matt 4:23-25 - And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

Matt 9:35-38 - And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Luke 9:11 - And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

Luke 9:6 - And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where

Jesus was beaten with 39 stripes according to Jewish historical accounts of the crucifixion. Each stripe He bore for us was securing healing in the areas of the wounds Jesus knew many of us would bear not only for His name’s sake but in life in general. The Bible records that His ministry was one of PREACHING, TEACHING and HEALING. This is what He said He came to do in His great message in the synagogue at Nazareth:   The reason Jesus preached the gospel first to the poor was that the poor would more readily receive it than those who were rich. Being poor doesn’t just mean one has little money or wealth. Poverty is a state of mind that comes from being under a curse of sin. Rich people don’t go to hell because they are rich no more than poor people go to heaven because they are poor. In reality though, we are all poverty stricken outside Christ. That is why Jesus condemned Laodicea so much – it had much goods and wealth but it was spiritually poverty stricken and blind to its need.

Rev 3:17-19 - Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

The reason Jesus is able to preach the gospel to the poor is because He too came from a poor family. Even though He owned all of heaven, he became lowly and meek to secure eternal salvation for us through his name. Mary and Joseph were poor. At Jerusalem’s annual feast, Mary brought the cheapest sacrifice possible – a turtledove. The turtledove was allowed by the economy of God for those who couldn’t afford a lamb or goat.

Luke 2:22-24 - And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

To heal the brokenhearted

Broken hearted people are people whose hearts have been broken because of sin, failure, disappointment or rejection. Many of you reading this article fall into that category. Jesus came to heal you of the broken heartedness in your life. He is able to do that because He too was brokenhearted over the fact that Israel, his own rejected Him. How many of us have come to our own and felt rejection by them and been wounded as a result? So has the son of God, yet through the stripes He bore on His back, He came to HEAL the brokenhearted.

John 1:11-14 - He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Isaiah prophesied that Jesus was a man acquainted with sorrows and griefs. He hurt for the bondage that humanity had found itself in after the fall. He came to heal our broken hearts and make us instruments of healing for those around us.

Isa 53:3 - He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

To preach deliverance to the captives

Many are in serious bondages today that only the power of the Lord Jesus Christ can set free. The alcoholic will not be set free by Alcoholics Anonymous. The drug addict will not be set free by going to drug support groups. Its not a matter or rehabilitating the criminal. The word rehabilitation is not found in the Bible. Deliverance is found everywhere. The Lord Jesus Christ came to preach deliverance to the captives and make us instruments of His power and grace to a lost and dying world. Our teenagers are bound by lust, greed, and rebellion and in some cases even demon spirits. THE ONLY THING THAT WILL SET THEM FREE IS THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST.

Mister, you can spurn the call of the Spirit and choke Him out of your church and life if you want to but you do that to your destruction. People are calling what the Spirit is doing today of the devil just like they did in the day of Jesus. As Jesus said, CAN SATAN CAST OUT SATAN? I think not. It’s time we put away our childish theological arguments and intercede in the Spirit for the DELIVERANCE of our children. Some of the hurts they have in their lives are mere mirrors and shadows of the hurts and wounds mom and dad have passed on down through the generations. If we are going to see revival in America, it hangs on us allowing the Lord to bring deliverance to the captives, INCLUDING US! Many of us are bound by tradition that has led us down a path to hell.

Gal 1:4 - Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Heb 2:15-18 - And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.  For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.

I John 3:8 - He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

To help the recovering of sight to the blind

Spiritual blindness is horrible. A blind man cannot see where he is going even though he may want to go in the right direction. How many of us are blind to our own wounds and needs to the point we refuse to admit we have a problem. James encourages us to CONFESS OUR FAULTS one to another and pray for one another that we may be healed. When we refuse to do that, we cut off the grace of God in our lives. Walking in the light as John says is to walk as to allow the Lord Jesus to expose whatever He needs to in our lives to others so He can set us free from sin and bring healing to our lives. The reason the world is condemned tonight is that it loves darkness rather than light. The horror though is most Christians spend their lives HIDING IN THE DARK from their wounds and hurts without ever being set free from them. The result is a perpetual cycle of hurt and bitterness that is passed on from generation to generation. He was the light of the world, but in GROSS darkness He died. Why? So the stripes which were put on His back would bring sight to those who would walk in blindness.

James 5:15-16 - And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Isa 50:11 - Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

I John 1:7-10 - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

John 3:19-21 - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hates the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

To set at liberty them that are bruised

This statement seems to be a repeat of what Jesus said earlier in relation to delivering captives. However, it goes deeper than mere deliverance from sin. Life has a way of bruising all of us just as Jesus was bruised on the cross. His heart literally burst according to Josephus, the great Jewish historian. The pain he suffered for us was the authority in which He was able to set at liberty those whose heart would literally burst from the shame, condemnation and guilt of being bruised.

It is estimated that every one in five women in America have been bruised by sexual abuse either by a relative or by a male figure. I don’t know the figure but I’m sure there are plenty of men that this can be said of as well. In addition, divorce has hit hard in nearly 50% of the homes across America. Second marriages are failing at a rate of 60%. Third marriages - even higher. That means millions of young children and teenagers bear the brunt of the hurt inflicted upon them as a result of living with one parent or another. It is by the SPIRIT OF THE LORD that we will heal others as Jesus commanded us to do. The Spirit of the Lord was upon Him, but He has anointed us to do the same things He did. That’s why the Holy Spirit was sent – to empower us to bring healing to those who have been bruised by broken relationships and life. Some healings are instantaneous while others are progressive. Some people we pray for may not even get healed, just as three people the apostle Paul prayed for didn’t get healed. It doesn’t mean God isn’t healing today nor does it mean the gifts and operations of the Holy Spirit went out the door 2,000 years ago. Australia has never seen revival in its history. Does that mean God isn’t wanting to bring revival or is not bringing revival in the world – OF COURSE NOT! The thing we must remember is that we are but instruments in the hands of a sovereign God. He can do what He pleases with us and the way He uses us. It is the Spirit who gives gifts of healings to those He wants to. We are to covet earnestly the best gifts. There are many measures of healing and many types of spiritual healings recorded in scripture. We must only believe that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him diligently and press in towards the mark.

1 Cor 12:9 - To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

1 Cor 12:30-31 - Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet I show you a more excellent way.

Rev 22:2 - In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

None Says Restore – A People Robbed and Spoiled

Isa 42:22-23 - But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivered; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?

Jer 8:22 - Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

Jeremiah asked in 8:22 "why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?" Isaiah cries that "none says ‘restore.’" Isaiah says, "who among you will give ear to this?" He asks, "who will hearken and hear for the time to come." The reason for Israel’s hurt was there was no balm in Gilead.

Folks, the time to come is NOW. We are living in the last days before the rapture. Time is running short! When there is no balm, or Holy Spirit, there will not be any healings. The church of the Lord Jesus continues to suffer in hurt and wounds because MAN has told the church that the Holy Spirit is not functioning today as He did in the book of Acts and in the days of the Apostles. I say to that "let every man be a liar and let GOD BE TRUE." We are fighting the very power that can heal us of our hurts and wounds. You can’t quarantine sin. You can’t try and bring deliverance to someone who is bound by demonic powers by the power of the law or legalism. You only grant the enemy greater power in their lives when you do that. THE POWER OF SIN IS THE LAW! Unfortunately to compensate for our unbelief in the supernatural of God that is what we wind up doing with most people around us. We give them a legal answer as to why they are bound and we tell them what’s wrong with them without believing God for their deliverance. In addition, we try and turn our altar calls into a used car pitch for Jesus. THE SPIRIT of the Lord gives the mercy and grace of the Lord Jesus to us. That’s why He came – TO SHOW US JESUS. If we will give the Holy Ghost the freedom He needs and desires, our altars will not be barren and those around us will see the glory of Jesus in us and they will want to know how they can experience the same. People who feel the TOUCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT will RUN TO OUR ALTARS!

Jer. 46:11-12 - Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shall thou use many medicines; for thou shall not be cured. The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.

The nations have heard of the shame of the American church. Our nation has plunged into a dark oblivion on OUR WATCH as we enter the 21rst Century. The Lord told Jeremiah to tell Gilead that in vain they shall use many medicines. Psychology is a vain medicine. Counseling, while it may have elements that are good, is a vain medicine. We can use all our gimmicks, our programs, legalism and even our charm to cure people, BUT THEY SHALL NOT BE CURED. Man cannot save man. All of our vaunted technology and science will not cure the ill that has gripped this society. ONLY THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST WILL! ONLY THE POWER AND GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. ONLY THE TENDER MERCIES OF HEAVEN WILL SET THE CAPTIVE FREE! And only the army of the wounded healers……
