The Precious Blood Of The Lord Jesus Christ
The fundamental basis of FAITH, which is always demanded, rests in the shed blood of Christ! As Israel's sins were never seen for one year during the Day of Atonement ceremonies, our sins are also carried away. Paul here in Colossians speaks of the act of God at Calvary, paying the penalty for human sin, satisfying the just demands of the Law, putting away sin, bidding it go away. This speaks in reference to the scapegoat, laden with Israel's sins, being led away into the wilderness, never to be seen again. As Israel never saw that goat again, thus they never saw their sins again as well! When the sinner puts His faith in the blood of Christ, His sins are gone too!!!! And the Christian must continue to evidence Faith in this great, glorious, and Finished Work, in order to walk in victory. Because even after we get saved, we STILL need the BLOOD to cover us, to change us, to sanctify us, to deliver us, to set us free, to work in us
This is the foundational message for an upcoming study of the Blood of Jesus coming to our website Fall 2005
By Chris McDonald
TEXT: Leviticus 17:1,2 - And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying, 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.
Leviticus, like no other book of the Bible, shows us the believer the
preciousness of the Blood, in that all life belongs to Jehovah; and second, that
the power of Atonement is in the Blood. The Lord attached a powerful
significance to these things. He would have them impressed upon every member of
the congregation. No animal could be offered up in Sacrifice, unless it was
offered up at the Tabernacle, and later the Temple, that is, when the Temple
would later be built. The Temple would be built on the same site as Mount
Calvary where THE LAMB would offer His blood up for fallen humanity some 1,500
years later.
Never forget this – the cross of Christ is the only thing standing between lost
humanity and hell itself. And it’s also the only thing standing between the
church and apostasy. Let that sink in. I’m afraid that the church has lost sight
of the preciousness of the blood of Christ and just how important it is in our
daily walk as believers. We understand, at least most do, the importance of the
Blood when it comes to our salvation. Sadly, even that is under attack in
so-called Pentecostal and Charismatic circles where the cross of Christ and the
shedding of blood is denigrated into nothing more as the coin in which we can
pull heaven’s magic lever and get anything we want because of what Christ did
for us.
Other camps within the same circle claim the message of the cross and blood of
Christ no longer “fits” into this “modern” society and to appeal to “all
segments” of society, we must change the message. Neighbor, let me make
something clear right off the bat in this message. If you change THIS message
you have sentenced millions to HELL! I want to say it again. If we change and
tinker with the message of Atonement by Blood, we are sentencing MILLIONS, if
not BILLIONS to hell itself. Without the shedding of blood there is NO remission
of SIN! Without the blood of Jesus covering us and cleansing us our sin remains.
If we say we have ‘no sin,’ then the truth of God is not in us and we make
ourselves out to be liars. ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
ALL have forsaken the righteous paths of heaven and gone their “own way.” We
like sheep have gone astray and not followed the Great Shepherded of our souls,
the prophet Isaiah said.
Man by nature is evil and wicked and in need of a redeemer. There is no
substitute for the redeemer’s blood in which he purchased humanity and broke the
power of sin over mankind. The BLOOD will NEVER lose its power! It reaches to
the HIGHEST mountain; it FLOWS to the LOWEST valley; the blood that flows from
DAY to DAY, it shall NEVER lose it’s power!!! Praise God Praise God, Andre
Crouch knew the secret to ALL eternity – the BLOOD!
When Satan is coming at you like Pharaoh did Moses and the children of Israel at
the Red Sea- plead the blood. When sickness has gripped your body and there is
no where to turn except God, – plead the blood. When the powers of sin assail,
heaven’s grace will NEVER fail – why? – Because of the BLOOD! Plead the blood,
plead the blood, plead the blood, plead the blood.
The Thing The Lord Commanded
Leviticus 17:1-2 - “And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, “Speak unto Aaron,
and unto his sons, and unto all the Children of Israel, and say unto them; This
is the thing which the LORD has commanded, saying.”
In this great 17th chapter of Leviticus,
which follows the 16th Chapter that details Israel’s Great Day Of Atonement when
the sins of the nation were accounted for, we see a clear fact - “It is the
Blood that makes Atonement for the soul.”
Concerning this, Mackintosh said:
“If I look from the Third Chapter of Genesis
down to the close of Revelation, I find the Blood of Christ put forward alone as
the ground of Righteousness. We get pardon, peace, life, Righteousness – all by
the Blood, and nothing but the Blood. The entire Book of Leviticus, and
particularly the Chapter which we are now studying, is a commentary upon the
Doctrine of the Blood. It seems strange to have to insist upon a fact so obvious
to every dispassionate, teachable student of Holy Scripture; yet so it is. Our
minds are prone to slip away from the plain Testimony of the Word. We are ready
to adopt opinions without ever calmly investigating them in the light of the
Divine Testimonies. In this way we get into confusion, darkness, and error.”
He then said,
“May we learn to give the Blood
of Christ its due place. It is so precious in God’s sight that He will not
suffer ought else to be added to or mingled with it.”
All we can say to that is a hearty AMEN! All
we can say to that is PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD. Neighbor, it’s the CROSS! It’s the
blood of Jesus. It’s not your church. It’s not the Pope. It’s not the Assemblies
of God. It’s not the Church of God. It’s not the Pentecostal Holiness. It’s not
the Baptist Convention. It’s not the Foursquare or Vineyard movements. Those
movements may be of God (sadly, most have lost their way though), but NONE OF
THEM SAVE or REDEEM.
The Cross is the STORY of the BIBLE!
Faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross is the only thing standing
between all humanity and hell. It's the only thing standing between a church
teetering on apostasy and a church grounded in truth and walking in a glorious
anointing and grace. When one
properly learns the Word, one has learned the Cross; and it might even be turned
around and said, when one learns the Cross, one has learned the Word. They are
synonymous, one and the same! If one properly understands the Word of God, then
one will properly understand the Cross. And if it becomes obvious that one
doesn’t understand the Cross, to be sure, one will have a misunderstanding at
the same time of the Word. Such is the road to spiritual disaster. And millions
are on that road at this very moment.
Scores of Christians today in all denominations have their faith in everything BUT the Cross. You say, “well we’re saved now,” and need to move on to “other things.” Neighbor, as A.R. Trotter said in 1959 prior to his death, “when we leave the cross, we backslide!” He was not talking to rank sinners, he was talking to preachers! If we are to go “beyond the cross,” where are we going to go? Some quickly would say, “well Brother McDonald, we need to get into the ‘deep’ things of God through the Spirit.” Friend, the HOLY SPIRIT only works in His office as convictor, keeper and leader of our lives THROUGH THE PARAMETERS OF THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST! He doesn’t work through man’s agendas or plans. He doesn’t work because we scream the right way or say the right things or use the right formulas. He is called the Spirit of TRUTH. Jesus said you shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you Free! This means that when our faith is in the right truth (i.e. the finished work of Christ) then THE TRUTH - the SPIRIT OF TRUTH- the HOLY SPIRIT - will come and reprove us of sin, righteousness and judgment. But if our faith is in any other than the truth of God's word - then the Holy Spirit will not abide with such and He will cease to help us in our daily lives.
John 16:7-11
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for
if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will
send him unto you. [8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment: [9] Of sin, because they believe not on
me; [10] Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
[11] Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot
receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I
will come to you. [19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but
ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know
that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. [21] He that hath my
commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me
shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to
him.
Most of what goes on today in the “name of the Spirit,” of God is false. It is
another spirit, or spirits, generating a false gospel that points people to a
false Christ. Some are being pointed to a Jesus that the Bible never portrays.
But if one does not properly understand the Word of God and God’s plan for
Redemption, the error, which is so subtle and deadly, will always lead one
astray from the truth and the foundation of our faith! Paul warned the Corinth
Church of such deception, ending his second letter with a serious exhortation
for them to examine themselves to see if they be reprobate!
2 Cor. 11:1-4
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with
me. [2] For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you
to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. [3] But I
fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so
your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. [4] For if
he that cometh preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye
receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye
have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
2 Cor. 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye
not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
A reprobate is someone who has known the truth but has departed from it into apostasy, a "departing from the faith." Paul was not talking to newborn Christians - He was talking to spirit-filled congregations who spoke in tongues, prophesied and knew the gifts of the Spirit. And the modern church world today sinks into the same oblivion as Corinth lest we keep our faith anchored in the Cross of Christ and in the precious blood of the Lord Jesus!
The Life Is In The Blood
Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you
upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that
makes an atonement for the soul.
From the time of the Fall (Gen. 3:15), through Revelation 22:21, we find the Cross as the central theme of the Word of God and the Blood of the New Covenant as the means to cleanse, justify and save. As the sinner seeks salvation, he can only find Christ as he finds the Christ of the Cross!
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The Scriptures teach that in both man
and beast the blood is the source and holder of physical life.
Genesis 4:10
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood cries unto me
from the ground.
Leviticus 3:17
It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your
dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the
altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an
atonement for the soul.
Deut. 12:23
Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou
mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
Job 24:12
Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded cries out: yet God
layeth not folly to them.
Proverbs 28:17
A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let
no man stay him.
Jeremiah 2:34
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have
not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Lament. 2:12
They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the
wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their
mothers' bosom.
Hebrews 12:24
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling,
that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Rev. 6:9-10
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them
that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: [10]
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost
thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
The BLOOD of Jesus is the ONLY source of life for fallen humanity. It is the only thing that is keeping millions from hell and it’s the only thing keeping a teetering church from falling into outright apostasy. Much of the world, and even the church, has ridiculed the idea of the necessity of Jesus shedding His Life's blood in order to secure Man's Redemption. But yet, God demanded such, and irrespective as to its horror, paid the terrible debt Himself! Inasmuch Jesus would give His life as a ransom for the entirety of the world and for all time, His Blood was poured out from multiple wounds, which in effect poured out His life. According to Jewish tradition, He suffered eight wounds, signifying a Resurrection death, for eight is the number of Resurrection:
Nails pierced His two Hands
Nails pierced His two Feet
Thorns were pressed down upon His brow penetrating His scalp,
His beard was pulled out,
His back was beaten severely
His side was pierced
As we have written many times in the last few journals, a debt of sin was owed to God that man could not, and STILL can not, pay! This debt was of such magnitude, that it could not be settled by silver or gold, the highest form of exchange among human beings. There had to be something else, something higher and greater than that, and the only thing remaining was/is "a life."
However, it was not good enough for man to offer up himself in sacrifice, for
man was sinful and stained with the very thing that the Lord was attempting to
redeem and conquer. God would have to pay the price Himself, hence the
Incarnation of Christ. God could not even die as deity because of the eternal
laws He Himself instituted. The price had to be paid by another man. A man after
the likeness of the First Adam, yet unlike the First Adam in that the Second
MAN, would obey and not rebel. Life was forfeited at the Fall, and for life to
be regained, a perfect life would have to be given, which would then pay the
terrible sin debt, making it possible for God to redeem humanity, at least who
would believe!
Col. 1:12-14
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in light: [13] Who hath delivered us from the power of
darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: [14] In whom
we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
1 Peter 1:18-19
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as
silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your
fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot:
The Law of Moses required the
offering up of all the Sacrifices under the old Levitical Law, which demanded
the blood of the Lamb being shed, presented as a SYMBOL of the ONE who was to
Come, Who would shed HIS LIFE's BLOOD on our BEHALF.
In fact, when the High Priest went in once a year to the Holy of Holies, he dare not go without blood! He had to go into the Holy of Holies twice on this Great Day of Atonement, once for himself, for he himself was a sinful man, and once for Israel, both times with blood. The Blood was applied to the Mercy Seat which stood between the broken law of God and the Cherubim gazing down upon the Mercy Seat. In this Mercy Seat there was a compartment that contained the Ten Commandments, carved upon a stone, kept in the Ark of the Covenant. EVERY HUMAN BEING FROM ADAM TO NOW has broken that LAW! Man has repeatedly broken God's Law which in essence puts man in a place to receive WRATH from God, not mercy! Consequently, as the Cherubim who represent a THRICE HOLY GOD look down, they see the Law broken by man, demanding the Wrath of God; however, then the Blood was applied to the Mercy Seat, which was a type of the Blood of Christ whcih would later be shed, instead of the Cherubim seeing the broken Law, they now saw the BLOOD! Praise God, Praise God. My Lord, neighbor do you feel that as these words are being written???? When I see the BLOOD, I will pass over you! I can hear the words of God to Moses tremble in my soul today as they echo down from eternity past. I can hear the Cherubim beating their wings together, hiding their faces from this THRICE HOLY GOD, screaming for man's destruction because of man's sinfulness. THEN I HEAR THE VOICE OF JESUS saying "NO!" - "NOT WRATH, BUT MERCY!"" "My blood has been applied to the Mercy Seat and ALL those who believe are safe from the storms of wrath and destruction!""
The Blood applied to the Mercy Seat was Israel's Salvation, and neighbor it is OUR SALVATION TODAY! The Mercy Seat itself was nothing more than a piece of furniture in a structure sitting out in the middle of the wilderness. It's what the MERCY SEAT represetned - the propitiation of CHRIST - the ONE WHO WAS TO COME and shed His blood as our FAITHFUL HIGH PRIEST; Who would walk into the presence of Almighty God and sprinkle HIS BLOOD on the Mercy Seat of Heaven, turning God's wrath against a sinful creation, into grace, mercy and hope for all who would come to Christ.
Romans 3:25-26
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to
declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God; [26] To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that
he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus
(i.e. puts faith in what Christ did at the Cross!).
Christ had to die for this to take place. Christ had to shed His blood for this to happen. That's the theme of this message today. We are saved today because of the shedding of His blood. As great and wonderful are the truths of the Incarnation and Virgin Birth of the Savoir, that alone would never redeem fallen humanity. As great and wonderful were the many miracles Jesus performed healing multitudes and illustrating the Kingdom of God, miracles in themselves would never redeem man! As great and wonderful as His sinless perfection was, that in itself would have done us no good had He not died. For man's redemption to be brought about and hell averted for all, CHRIST HAD TO DIE ON A CROSS and SHED HIS LIFE'S BLOOD.
Israel should have known this fact but they didn't! Let that sink in neighbor. Israel should have known it. TO them were given the Law, the prophets, the covenants and the oracles of God sent by angels! Yet through all of that, they did not believe! Tragically when they killed the Prince of Glory they thought they were doing it "in the name of the Lord!" This foul deed Israel perpetrated upon Christ was their responsibility alone as a result of self-righteousness and apostasy. And this is the horrible state we find the modern church world in today.
Neighbor, supposed men of God don't deny the blood of Christ with eyes wide shut - they do it with EYES WIDE OPEN! The Word of Faith camp that denigrates the cross of Christ and says the Blood alone does not atone for sin are people who supposedly have "gifts of the Spirit," and know the things of God. These are not some Islamic clerics standing up in a mosque spewing hatred against Christians through a deceived heart and mouth. These are household names of religion in America. Some of these ministries that do such have millions listening to them on a daily basis via the television and cable networks. It's not a matter of ignorance - even though I wished it were. Ignorance could at least be addressed and dealt with. Unbelief cannot. Israel's unbelief was not because they didn't "know!" It was because they had hardened their hearts to the truth and became self-righteous, arrogant and proud in their "knowledge," and "ability."
And today, it is virtually impossible to hear a preacher anymore say the words, "I don't know everything about this." Arrogance and pride abound in the ministry and as a result it abounds in the laity. The American church has become so smug and self-reliant that we no longer see our need for Christ! Christians think because we have been saved that our faith no longer needs to rest in such "elementary" things, as I heard some moronic preacher say the other day, as the blood of Jesus. Neighbor, the Blood of Jesus is more than just an "elementary" part of our faith. IT IS THE ENTIRETY OF OUR FAITH - PERIOD! IT IS THE FAITH! The BLOOD OF JESUS IS THE FAITH. THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS THE FAITH. IT'S THE GROUND STONE, IT'S THE FIRST, IT'S THE LAST, IT'S THE VERY BREATH WE BREATHE!
Peter called the blood of Christ a precious "cornerstone," upon which ALL doctrinal beliefs must be founded. Paul called it the foundation upon which all works must be built upon!
1 Cor. 3:5-10 - Who then is Paul, and who
is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every
man? [6] I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. [7] So then
neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that
gives the increase. [8] Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and
every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. [9] For we
are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
[10] According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master
builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every
man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1 Peter 2:1-10 - Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and
hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, [2] As newborn babes, desire
the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: [3] If so be ye have
tasted that the Lord is gracious. [4] To whom coming, as unto a living stone,
disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, [5]
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. [6]
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief
corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be
confounded. [7] Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto
them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is
made the head of the corner, [8] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of
offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto
also they were appointed. [9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the
praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
[10] Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which
had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Even The Forgiveness Of Sins
Col. 1:14-16
In whom we have redemption through his
blood, even the forgiveness of sins: [15] Who is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [16] For by him were all things
created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things
were created by him, and for him:
Because even after we get saved, we STILL need the BLOOD to cover us, to change us, to sanctify us, to deliver us, to set us free, to work in us
Not Possible...For The Blood of Bulls and Goats
Hebrews 9:22
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of
blood is no remission.
Hebrews 10:4
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away
sins.
Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for
him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
As we close this message let us reiterate the purpose of why we write today. It's really very simple - IT'S THE BLOOD OF JESUS! Without the shedding of Blood neighbor, you and I are lost! Without placing our faith in what Christ did at the Cross, we are not forgiven! Forgiveness is tied inextricably to the "shedding of the blood of Christ." This means that NO PRIEST CAN FORGIVE SIN, as Catholics claim! Neither can any man or any denomination forgive sin either, as some Protestants claim! Your church sir, cannot change that evil wicked heart of yours! Your preacher, and I mean no disrespect to preachers of the gospel, but they are mere men, who are just as sinful and in need of a Redeemer as any one reading this journal!!! THEY cannot forgive sin and change you either. ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST! It's THE BLOOD. It's the BLOOD. It's the BLOOD!
The
Last Days Apostasy – A Departure From THE FAITH
The last day apostasy, as is obvious, is the repudiation of the Cross. Paul said: “Now the Spirit (Holy Spirit) speaks expressly (pointedly), that in the latter times (the times in which we now live) some shall depart from the Faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (I Tim. 4:1). “The Faith” is “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified” (I Cor. 1:23; 2:2).
1 Tim. 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving
heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Cor. 1:23
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the
Greeks foolishness;
1 Cor. 2:2
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him
crucified.
In the last several decades, and especially
the last decade (the 1990’s), the departure from “the Faith” has been
accelerated. But at the same time, the Lord is lifting up a standard against
this evil, by once again giving to the Church, and the world for that matter,
the Message of the Cross, perhaps in a more powerful way than it has ever before
been presented. And let the Reader understand that the understanding of the
Cross is, in reality, the understanding of the entirety of the New Covenant. The understanding of
the Cross is not merely the understanding of a particular doctrine, but is
really the understanding of the foundation of all doctrine. All doctrine must be
built on the premise of the Cross, or else in some way, it will be false and
lead millions into hell itself.
We all need GRACE and the only way that the Believer can understand the Grace of God, and to have Grace flowing uninterrupted in his heart and life is to understand the Cross, and thereby place his Faith. The Holy Spirit, Who superintends all Grace, will then guarantee victory in one’s life (Eph. 2:18).
Ephes. 2:18
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Neighbor, I pray you know this glorious Christ today and have partaken of this GREAT SALVATION! It's a glorious church without spot or wrinkle. The church not having spot or wrinkle is not because of man-made rules or laws - it's because of the GRACE OF GOD through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We plan to develop an entire study on the blood of Christ in coming weeks. This message is the foundation for that study. We pray it's been a blessing to you today and has encouraged you once more to anchor your faith in the cross. Can we write about something else, one may ask? Certainly, but I get no greater joy than sitting down and writing about what Christ has done for us through HIS FINISHED WORK. That is all I have to boast in (AND IT'S ALL YOU have to boast in as well, child of GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I love Him today and thank Him for His shed blood that covers me from head to toe today. I place my faith in HIM and declare HIS BLOOD as the sacrifice for my sin debt and the means for my deliverance from sin, self and the devil. There is no other place I seek to place the anchor of my soul. Be blessed. I pray you've made your calling and election sure - for the time is short, it's getting late neighbor, and it's harvest time. Praise God.
2 Peter 1:1-10
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have
obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ: [2] Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the
knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, [3] According as his divine power hath
given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the
knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given
unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the
world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith
virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to
temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly
kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you,
and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But he that lacketh these things is
blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his
old sins. [10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
1 Cor. 1:25-31
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is
stronger than men. [26] For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: [27] But
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God
hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are
mighty; [28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath
God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
[29] That no flesh should glory in his presence. [30] But of him are ye in
Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and
sanctification, and redemption: [31] That, according as it is written, He that
glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

No Greater Love Than This!
