Covenant Land Part 6
The area known as the "West Bank," is in the news almost daily. Abraham was in the mountains of Israel in the heart of the area referred to as the West Bank when the Lord promised him the land. The boundaries of the land promised to Abraham INCLUDE all of modern day Israel, the disputed territories and much more, including Jerusalem. As we have stated over and over in previous journals – THIS PROMISE WAS UNCONDITIONAL and not based on Israel’s faithfulness. When God made this covenant with Abraham, He already knew what would happen years ahead concerning Israel and her faithfulness to her Creator.

TEXT: Ezekiel 36:1-7 - Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the
mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord:
[2] Thus saith the Lord God; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even
the ancient high places are ours in possession: [3] Therefore prophesy and say,
Thus saith the Lord God; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you
up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen,
and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people: [4]
Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the
Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys,
to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey
and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about; [5] Therefore
thus saith the Lord God; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against
the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land
into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to
cast it out for a prey. [6] Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel,
and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys,
Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury,
because ye have borne the shame of the heathen: [7] Therefore thus saith the
Lord God; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you,
they shall bear their shame.
This journal
deals with Israel's return to the Land. Before we get more into detail
concerning that it's imperative we ask the question, "Why is there no peace in Israel?" Why is there only violence, terror, war, and
turmoil in the land of Israel and in Jerusalem? Israel is one of the smallest
land masses on which a nation has been established. It contains no vast reserves
of oil, minerals, or tangible wealth. There are no mighty rivers flowing through
the land, for in its natural state Israel is a dry and arid land that lay
completely barren for hundreds of years under Gentile rule.
What makes this tiny peace of real estate so important, and why does there rage
endless conflict over the land of Israel? Why have every peace process, plan,
and road map but forth by presidents, prime ministers, kings, princes, the E.U.,
the U.N., Russia, Britain, and the United States led “Quartet,” all ended in
failure? The reason that these processes have failed is two fold but really just
one. There is without a doubt no understanding in the hearts and minds of
Israel’s modern day leaders, especially the newly elected government of March
29, 2006. Israel’s leaders have forgotten that the land of Israel has nothing to
do with “peace,” but with COVENANT!
The world cries for “peace, peace,” when no peace will be forthcoming over this
land. God’s prophetic word is eternal, and everything written in the Bible is
written from God’s perspective with eternity in mind. God says that we are to
know and understand the times and seasons. Only the Lord can see the beginning
from the end and that is one of the reasons He gave us His Word – so we could
learn to see and understand prophetic events through His eyes and not our own
eyes.
The Psalmist declares that the Lord “frustrates,” the counsel of nations who
oppose His covenants and will.
Psalm 33:10-11
The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: (HEBREW: “frustrates”)
He makes the devices of the people of none effect. [11] The counsel of the Lord
standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Another Psalm, Psalm 83, gives us deeper revelation as to the true foundational
issue in the Middle East – Covenant.
Psalm of the Covenant of The Enemies of God
Psalm 83:2-9 - For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee
have lifted up the head. [3] They have taken crafty counsel against thy people,
and consulted against thy hidden ones. [4] They have said, Come, and let us cut
them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in
remembrance. [5] For they have consulted together with one consent: they are
confederate against thee: [6] The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of
Moab, and the Hagarenes; [7] Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with
the inhabitants of Tyre; [8] Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen
the children of Lot. Selah. [9] Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to
Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
We plan to do an in depth study soon on the “Ancient Hatred,” that will take a
deeper look at Islam, its roots and reasons why it hates Israel. For this study
however, one cannot do a message/lesson on the Covenant Land of Israel without
mentioning it in this same frame of thought.
In this prophetic Psalm, written over 3,000 years ago, we find the enemies of
God of Israel making uproar in the earth. Those who hate Him are exalting
themselves against HIM and the Jewish people, namely the NATION of Israel.
The enemies of the God of Israel have conspired together saying, “come and let
us destroy them from (being) a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no
more.” How could these enemies listed in Psalm 83 possibly wipe out a nation
when it did not exist? We know that in 70 A.D. it was the Romans, not the
Muslims, who destroyed Jerusalem and Judah and dispersed the Jewish people
throughout the nations for more than 1,900 years.
Yet, from the very day that Israel was resurrected as a nation in 1948, the
nations surrounding Israel (as listed in this Psalm) have sought to destroy her
through SIX wars, waves of unrelenting terror and violence, economic boycott,
and through political compromise. Psalm 83 was written for this time and this
day! It reveals there are two opposing covenants in operation regarding the land
and the nation of Israel. We’ll call this “covenant,” in Psalms the "Islamic Covenant" that
became operational in 1948 and is in direct opposition to the Abrahamic
Covenant, which was established between God and Abraham’s descendants. The
Abrahamic Covenant is the source where we find the truth of who will ultimately
possess and occupy the land of Israel.
There will NEVER be peace between Muslims and Jews until the issue of “covenant”
is resolved! Upheaval as we know it today has very little to do with peace, but
it has everything to do with who God really is, and which covenant will prevail!
Look at Ezekiel 36 again with me more carefully. There are no conditions which
Israel must meet concerning the Lord’s oath to bring the Jewish people home and
settle them in the mountains of Israel (the West Bank, Gaza). Just as in His
original promise to Abraham, there are no conditions. Israel shall possess the
mountains of Israel, because it is the WILL OF THE LORD, not the “will of
Allah!”
Ezekiel 36:7-36
• I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall
bear their shame.
• I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
• And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and
the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded
• And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring
fruit:
• And I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than
at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
• Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall
possess thee.
• I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye
have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know
• For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all
countries, and will bring you into your own land.
• Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all
your filthiness, and from all your idols,
• I will cleanse you.
• I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh
• I will give you an heart of flesh.
• I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes,
• I will be your God
• I will also save you from all your uncleanness
• I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
• I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field,
• I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded
• I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.
The Lord did the following when it comes to the land of Israel:
• Choose a people
• Promise them a land
• Let them fall into slavery in Egypt
• Bring them out of Egypt
• Resettled them in their Land
• Exiled them from their Land
• Scatter them over the face of the earth
• Promise to bring them back into their Land
• Promise to make the desert blossom
As a result the Lord is:
• Bringing Jewish people home today
• Making the desert bloom
• Settling Jewish people in the Land including the West Bank
God repeated this purpose 59 times in Ezekiel alone! Then He summed it all up by
saying, “…..then you will know that I AM the ………..Lord!” This truth must be
accepted before events in the Middle East can be understood. Israel is the way
we know that God is real in many ways. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has
proven His power and realty through the survival of the Jewish people and the
KEEPING of His COVENANT Promises concerning HIS COVENANT LAND!
For nearly 2,000 years Israel suffered the curses of Deuteronomy 28 and
Leviticus 26. Now God is keeping His promise to remember his covenant with them:
Leviticus 26:44-45
And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast
them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my
covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God. [45] But I will for their sakes
remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land
of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord.
The Lord promised to bring the Jewish people back, after they endured suffering,
but while they were yet sinful, and then to pour His Spirit upon them and give
them a NEW HEART.
Isaiah 40:2
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is
accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's
hand double for all her sins.
Ezekiel 36:26-27
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I
will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart
of flesh. [27] And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my
statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Long ago the Lord caused promises to be recorded in the Bible and in the site of
the entire world He is KEEPING HIS PROMISES! No other being or group of beings
could have accomplished what the Lord has done. When we see the miraculous birth
and survival of the tiny state of Israel and the lights of Jewish cities
spreading over the mountain tops of the Promised Land, it is easy, or it SHOULD
BE, to believe in God today. Yet so many refuse and reject His promises and
believe error concerning end time events, including many wrong teachings within
the church about Israel.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob exists and only HE IS THE LORD! There are
no other gods on this earth beside HIM.
Numbers 24:9
He couched; he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up?
Blessed is he that blesses thee (ISRAEL), and cursed is he that curseth thee
(ISRAEL).
As prophecies are fulfilled and the great power of God is revealed, these words
from the Bible are important for the nations. No one can prevent God from doing
HIS WILL. World powers that oppose God’s plan can cause pain and suffering to
their people (REMEMBER THIS AMERICA!), but they cannot prevent the Lord from
keeping His promises. Regardless of what man does, God will keep His promises.
The Land Before Israel’s Return
Ezekiel 6:2 - Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and
prophesy against them,
Ezekiel 6:6 - In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and
the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made
desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut
down, and your works may be abolished.
Ezekiel 6:8 - Yet will I leave a remnant that ye may have some that shall escape
the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
Ezekiel 6:14
So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more
desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they
shall know that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel prophesied that God would scatter the children of Israel throughout the
nations and make the mountains of Israel desolate. In 70 A.D. and 135 A.D. in
fulfillment of His Word the Lord scattered the people of Israel around the
world. A small remnant remained in the Land. For nearly 2,000 years the Promised
Land lay desolate. Where once great forests stood, the hills were empty of trees
and covered with rocks.
“The land was under Turkish control from 1517 to 1917, and Turkey destroyed this
land thoroughly. The rulers enacted ridiculous laws; for example, one which
required taxes to be paid for live trees. The people cut down the tres so they
wouldn’t have to pay taxes! This country therefore ended up in a truly wretched
condition.”
The Land was described by Rev. Samuel Manning in 1874 in Those Holy Fields, “the
land is left void and desolate…without inhabitants.”
For thousands of years Arabic people roamed over millions of square miles in the
Middle East and Africa – unhindered borders as we know them today. Bedouin
frequently moved and out of the area to find pasture for their flocks. From the
mid-1800s until 1948 jobs created by Jewish improvement of the land drew Arabs
from other areas into the Holy Land. Therefore, many Muslims living in the Land
before Israel became a state were NOT natives of the area the media calls
“Palestine.” Below is a list of the birthplace of Muslims living in Jerusalem as
recorded in a census in 1931:
| Albania | Algeria |
| Australia | Central America |
| Central Asiatic Territories | Cyprus |
| Egypt | Far Eastern Asia |
| France | Greece |
| Hejaz-Hejd | Indian Continent |
| Iraq | Morocco |
| Palestine | South America |
| Persia (IRAN) | Transjordan |
| Spain | Tripoli |
| Syria | Tunis |
| Turkey | USA |
| United Kingdom | USSR |
| Yemen | Other Arabian Territories |
| Other African Territories |
Of course even during the worst desolation some people – Jewish, Arabic and others – remained in the Land.
“Jews did not entirely disappear from the Holy Land…Official records listed 43 Jewish communities in the sixth century: twelve along the coast, in the Negev Desert and east of the Jordan River; and 31 in the Galilee and Jordan valley
During Ottoman Turkish rule beginning in 1516 four holy cities were
semi-autonomous Jewish areas – Jerusalem, Tiberias, Safed and Hebron.
In Tiberius “a textile industry was set up, employing many Jews.” A report in
1964 indicated that the largest group of residents of Jerusalem was JEWISH. “The
population of the City of Jerusalem is computed at 18,000 of whom about 5,000
are Muslims, 8,000 to 9,000 Jews and the rest Christians of various
denominations,” according to articles.
Arabic people also lived in the Holy Land. Some were settled, but many were
transient. During the past 2,000 years Arabic tribes roamed over more than 5
million square miles in the Middle East and in northern Africa. Or much of that
time there were no borders as we know them today. They moved here and there for
good pasture or for jobs.
While some Jewish, Arabic and others lived in the Holy Land in the late 1800’s,
the land was sparsely populated. Roughly 200,000 Muslims were living in all of
Western Palestine in 1882. (65,000 nomadic and 135,000 settled) plus 55,000
Christians and 34,000 Jews, according to statistics in a great book on the
desolation the land experienced after Israel’s destruction as a nation in A.D.
70, From Time Immemorial.
The word of the Lord proved true:
Leviticus 26:33
And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you:
and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
The once fertile Jezreel Valley was a swampland infested with deadly mosquitoes:
“During the Turkish occupation….the flat land of Jezreel, in the middle of
Israel…about 50 kilometers long and ten kilometers wide…was so greatly infested
with malaria that thousands of people died, especially during the time when no
effective medicine to cure this disease was known. The Jews did a tremendously
effective job of draining the Jezreel Valley, which the Bible calls Armageddon,
and where the decisive battle in the history of the world will be fought.”
Sand smothered Israel’s coastal plain. The mountains were barren mounds of
rocks. Because of the desolation, Israel’s return could settle ANYWHERE in the
Holy Land without displacing anyone.
“Here once again, we see God’s foresight and wisdom. If this land had been well
cultivated and well settled, there wouldn’t have been room for the Jews to come
here when the time came for God to return them to their own land.”
To make it plain – a century ago, Israel was barren. But in light of this
barrenness, God made promises to the MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL, the area we know today
as the “West Bank,” and in many ways the Gaza Strip.
Ezekiel 36:8-12
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield
your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come. [9] For,
behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
[10] And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it:
and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded: [11] And I
will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit:
and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than
at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. [12] Yea, I will cause
men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and
thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them
of men.
• Israel will return
• You will shoot forth branches and yield fruit
• You will be tilled and sown
• I will multiply the house of Israel on you
• The cities will be inhabited
• The ruins will be rebuilt
• Israel WILL POSSESS YOU!
In the mid-to-late 19th century, increasing numbers of Jews to began to return
to the Land. The barren Land took the lives of many of the early settlers
through sickness and overwork as they drained swamps and planted trees. In 1920
the League of Nations designated British-occupied Palestine as a homeland for
the Jewish people. Jewish settlement created jobs. Arabic workers from
neighboring lands were drawn the area for jobs. As Jewish settlements grew,
Arabic settlements grew up around them.
The rise of Hitler caused more Jewish people to return to the Land. But MUSLIM
complaints and TERRORISM persuaded England to reduce the number of Jews allowed
to return at a time when more than six-million needed to escape Nazi
concentration camps. That paper, called the British White Paper, condemned
millions of innocent people to die. This writer believes with all his heart that
the blood of those lives will be held on account to the nation of Great Britain
one day in the halls of God’s justice.
In 1948, Israel became a STATE and for the first time in 2,000 years, Jews could
return to the Land unhindered. Since then MILLIONS of Jewish people have
returned.
The Fulfillment of Aliyah
Ezekiel 36:9-10 - For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye
shall be tilled and sown: [10] And I will multiply men upon you, all the house
of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes
shall be builded:
Jeremiah 23:7-8 - Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that they
shall no more say, The Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out
of the land of Egypt; [8] But, The Lord liveth, which brought up and which led
the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries
whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
The return of Israel to the land is known as ALIYAH. The word Aliyah might be
foreign to your ear or biblical understanding. But the term is commonly in the
Semitic languages, especially HEBREW. It means simply put, “to go up, ascend; to
go from a lower to a higher place.” Over time it has become associated with the
journey of Hebrew families up the Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, there to
celebrate the three great annual festivals that the Lord ordained. Psalms were
written to accompany these joyous occasions; fathers led their families up the
highway to Jerusalem singing the psalms of Aliyah, also known as the song of
Ascents, or song of degrees.
Over the years, the word Aliyah has become very dear to both Jewish people and
believing GENTILES as well. As prophetic scriptures about the regathering of
Israel and the Jewish people from the ends of the Earth are fulfilled before our
eyes, the term has become a way of describing ALL that is involved in Israel’s
return to the land.
We have touched the history of the Land briefly but I want to take a deeper look
at how Israel became a sovereign nation with the help of God. Secular Jewish
people may think they did it on their own – they did not! Surely it was divine
intervention that kept a remnant of scattered and persecuted Jewish people, who
went through their darkest hour in Hitler’s Holocaust.
Wars Of Independence and Survival
Following World War I, in 1920, the League of Nations turned the control of
“Palestine,” over to Britain. Fear of Arab reprisals gradually turned British
hearts against the Jewish immigrants who had been trickling back into the land
since the turn of the century. Fear turned to politics, as the allowable quota
or returning Jews was lowered and Israeli refugees were forbidden to land in
Haifa Harbor.
As World War II commenced, the British government seemed to forget entirely its
earlier commitment to protect ALL the citizens of Palestine. Jewish immigrants
who arrived in Palestine, fleeing Nazi persecution, were sent back to their
cities of origin – or even worse – held in detention camps in nearby Cyprus.
Other governments joined Britain in her indifference as gross atrocities were
committed both in Nazi Germany and in Palestine. The establishment of a Jewish
nation now rested in the shaky hands of the United Nations. On November 29,
1947, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution requiring
the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine, and the Jewish people danced
for joy.
But within just 3 days more than 40 MILLION Arabs pitted themselves against just
600,000 Jews already living in Israel. Declaring a holy war, or jihad, Arab
leaders vowed publicly, “We are going to kill all the Jews or drive them into
the sea.” The enemies of Israel were, and still are today, so cocky they warned
all the Arabic people who were then living peacefully within the borders of the
Jewish partition to move out of their homes so that they would not be caught up
in the Israeli’s destruction. This is, ironically, the origin of the Palestinian
“refugee” situation we will discuss in the next lesson/message in this series.
Few people today realize that four dreadful months of a battle for survival
transpired in Palestine before the UN took its resolution to a full vote before
the entire General Assembly. Finally, on May 14, 1948 (it was actually one
minute past midnight on May 15th), David Ben-Gurion read the following
Proclamation of Independence:
|
ERETZ-ISRAEL [(Hebrew) - the Land of Israel, Palestine] was the birthplace of
the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was
shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of
national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of
Books.
|
Not one full day later, five Arab Nations assaulted the newborn Jewish state, now a nation. Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq (50 million Arabs, with 1.5 million of them armed) attacked Israel is what became known as the Israeli War of Independence. This violence conflict continued for eight long months with heavy casualties on both sides. It was indeed a MIRACLE however that 600,000 Jewish people survived against such odds. Truly, Israel, who had just been “reborn,” was not totally destroyed.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall
rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the
servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
A tiny strip of land in the middle of the Earth was set apart once again for the
Jewish people. A nation was born. Exiles returned, and the desert began to
blossom. But Peace did not last long.
Isaiah 35:6-10
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in
the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. [7] And the
parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in
the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
[8] And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of
holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the
wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. [9] No lion shall be there,
nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the
redeemed shall walk there: [10] And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and
come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain
joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
In 1967 came the infamous
Six-Day War. Once again, it was a war that should have
ended in disaster for Israel, but God’s great mercy prevailed. At the end of six
days, the Israelis occupied SINAI, the GAZA STRIP, the WEST BANK, and the
GOLAN
HEIGHTS. All four of these regions are what the current peace process is all
about. The world wants Israel to give these regions back to the Arabs – even
though the ARABS ATTACKED HER FIRST! This conflict resulted in the amazing
capture of the Old Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem and the remaining portion of the
Western Wall of the Temple
Then came a season of peace, like a brief breath between birth pangs; it didn’t
last long as in 1973 the advent of the Yom Kippur assault proved once again
Satan’s efforts and God’s greater power! The Arabs backed by the Soviet Union,
attacked Israel once again on two fronts simultaneously. Taken off guard on
their highest holy day, the Israelis were pushed back as the Arabs made quick
territorial gains. Yet, again, but DIVINE intervention, Israel regained ALL her
land. Again the hand of God, working through the agency of human beings,
released divine protection to the outnumbered and despised Jewish nation. (There
was also a war in 1956 we will mention briefly called the Sinai Campaign where
Israel attacked Egypt which was trying to blockade her in the Sinai Region of
the Red Sea)
This history of God’s providential protection of Israel since 1948 is a glaring
warning and proclamation to ALL who would doubt where God stands when it comes
to her! God’s protection of Israel has never been based on anything good she has
ever accomplished as a nation. It is rather a declaration of God’s nature – His
greatness and faithfulness. God and God alone will be glorified as this act of
ultimate redemption unfolds in the Middle East! This is what mercy is all about.
If Israel deserved pardon, she would not need God’s grace. It is only through
receiving His grace that she can restore to Him the glory of which her sins have
robbed Hi. Paul, the Jewish apostle to the Gentiles, draws this out gloriously
for us in Scripture:
Romans 11:6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
In our next message/lesson in this series we will take a deeper detailed look at
Old Testament prophecies concerning Israel’s dispersion and regathering and
begin to look at Israel’s greatest threat at the present – the Palestinian
“cause,” that has produced nothing but death, terrorism and bloodshed in the
region known as the “land of the Bible.” I pray you know the Messiah of Israel
today, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only hope for peace in the Middle East.
To show the covenant bond between God and Israel’s land is certainly the main
theme of this study; but if we fail to lift up Jesus as the answer to these
issues, we’ve failed! Our hearts cry is Paul’s cry, along with the cry of the
Holy Spirit – that Israel be saved and the blindness in her heart be removed so
she can cry, “Blessed is HE who COMES in the name of the Lord.”
That is the ultimate end of all this we speak. One day and one day soon those words will be heard in Jerusalem. I pray you’re calling and election have been found in HIM today as we rapidly approach prophetic, Biblical and ominous times in human history. It’s getting late neighbor and yes, it’s harvest time in the Middle East, especially among the sons of Abraham, Isaac and ISRAEL.
