The God That Answers By Fire

The events surrounding the clash between the literal characters of Elijah, Ahab and Jezebel as recorded in 1 Kings are but prophetic foreshadowings of this current clash in the Spirit realm between the powers and forces of light and those of darkness. Let me explain it a different way. Jesus is coming again and He is coming soon! The rapture of the church could take place at any moment; millions are not ready to meet Him at this present time and the church world sits in silence failing to warn folks of His imminent return. During Christ’s first coming, the Lord sent a man named John, who actually operated in the Spirit of Elijah, to prepare the way for His coming; his message then is actually the true message of the forerunner spirit TODAY, that is aligned and planned by God to be a preparer of the way for the Lord’s Second Coming!

Jezebel has always had one master plan and one master plan alone – destroy the works and the people of God. Just as Elijah of old, those operating under the spirit of Elijah, operate in a spirit that also has one master plan – and that is to expose the works of darkness by saying and doing the will of God in all things. This end time clash is gaining strength and momentum as we draw closer to the end of time. The intensity is being turned up in unprecedented fashion and neighbor, the child of God is the one who is ultimately in the cross hairs of this damnable spirit that is destroying homes, churches, individuals and playing for the heart and soul of entire nations- including America!

The coming again of the Lord Jesus requires a suitable forerunner who announces the arrival of the King. The spirit that is seeking to stamp out the Spirit of Elijah and the prophetic forerunner message is the spirit of Jezebel and as stated, a type and portrait in these end times of the conflict played out in real time during the days of Israel’s kings.

In our last journal we dealt briefly with the characteristics of Jezebel as we began to lay a foundation for this sermon series. We actually will re-visit the elements of that journal in future messages but today I want to look at one of the events in this clash that took place upon Mount Carmel for in this “Carmel” experience, we see the recipe for Holy Ghost revival in the church as well as what it will take to destroy the false prophets of Jezebel. Elijah epitomized the forerunner spirit and we today in these modern times as the people of God in the harvest generation are called to move in this same Spirit and be prophetic voices so filled with His anointing that we can stop the rain, move mountains and cause Satan’s armies to be destroyed by the power of the Spoken Word of Almighty God.

Ahab and Jezebel

1 Kings 16:31

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

Framed in this conflict are two characters that pushed the envelope for the powers of darkness whose names portray the depths of evil itself-Ahab and Jezebel. Ahab’s name means ‘father’s brother,’ speaking of His father, Omri, who was one of many in the line of wicked rulers in Israel. He was the most wicked king to rule Israel until Ahab, his son, ruled. Like father, like son as Abham considered the things of God trivial and ran after the pleasures of the flesh. With a mindset and spirit bent toward carnality and sin, Ahab became easy prey for the conniving wicked Jezebel who was more than willing to step in and usurp authority from her weak, wicked husband.

At a time of one of Israel’s deepest periods of spiritual apostasy and declension due to Baal worship, which incidentally have tremendous parallels to the times of today, came forth a man named Elijah, who without stated pedigree stood before this wicked king and declared the Word of the Lord simply by saying, “there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my Word.”

1 Kings 17:1

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

This prophecy was relevant to the Baal worshiping Israelites since Baal was thought to be the god of the weather. In cutting to the core of the matter by stopping the rain, Elijah declared to this wicked despot and his demon possessed wife that JEHOVAH, YAHWEH, was the true God, not Baal. The church world should learn a deep lesson from this declaration. All the false gods we promote today as psychology, new age humanism and other man-made schemes we claim can change the landscape of America cannot and will not produce righteousness over our nation or in the lives of those we serve and minister to. Neighbor, if the power of the Holy Ghost can’t change them, then our “40 days” of whatever, can’t change them either!

At this declaration, the heavens closed, and as the prophet of God declared, the rain stopped upon the earth. Jezebel in her anger then set a price on Elijah’s head and sent out her spies who hunted him continually, while he hid first by a brook, later in a widow’s house in Zarephath during the drought. We will write on the Cherith experience in the future but let me say something here I said in the foundational journal of this series last week. ALL who name the name of God and will be used in this last day clash with Jezebel will not do so without the Cherith experience. Cherith means “separation,” meaning a time where we are ‘separated’ UNTO God, not so much “from” something.

The separation “from something” took place on Mount Carmel as God separated the true prophets from the false prophets; this experience Elijah went through however was a season in his life that was extremely lonely and a place where his faith for provision had to be 100% on God and nothing else.

Friend, I know a little about what it means to have to live in raven food. It’s not easy nor is it what most want to go through. But those who want to be used in this last day army and be used in the fullness of the anointing have to go through Cherith. There are no substitutes for this experience; there are no short cuts; there are no microwave solutions; there are no quick fixes to this. Cherith is where we die to ourselves and the tendencies where we depend on the flesh and friend that is never easy- never. Abraham had a Cherith; David had a Cherith; Jacob had his Cherith; Moses had his Cherith; Jesus had His; Paul, the great Apostle had his. And if you plan to be used in these last days to stand under the anointing of this forerunner spirit – you friend will have your Cherith too. It lasts differently for different people. Some stay there for weeks; some days; some months, but most of us stay for years. Only God knows the appointed time when we can leave Cherith as the time appointed came for Elijah to leave Cherith and meet Ahab on Mount Carmel some 3 ½ years after his declaration there would be no rain or dew on the earth.

In her wicked fury over the drought, Jezebel killed the true prophets of the Lord in a rage that testifies to the anger this spirit has for the Elijah’s of today. It would be at this point that Obadiah would take 100 of God’s prophets, hide them in a cave, to then meet Elijah who told Obadiah to go get Ahab and meet him on Mount Carmel.

The Carmel Experience

1 Kings 18:17-19

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? [18] And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim. [19] Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

The issue between Jehovah and Baal was centered upon which god had control of the sky and weather. Baal was worshipped as the god who rode on the clouds, a sky deity who understood lightning, and who set his thunder-bolt in the heavens. Ahab sees Elijah and asks him, “are you the one who troubles Israel?” That question is being asked by the world today about the church. Satan’s followers believe it’s the church and the true prophets of the land who against them and causing the problems we see in society. We have come to the place where evil is called “good” and “good” is called evil in passionate ways.

I look at the current political race and we have three candidates who all have no conscience when it comes to the heart and soul of the nation. Mrs. Clinton in 2005 boldly proclaimed that the wicked law of Roe v. Wade of 1973 “struck a blow for the rights of every woman in America” to abort babies they do not want, making the law into something “grand” and “glorious” instead of defining it as the evil is represents. Part of Baal worship was tied to human sacrifice, especially that of children. This same spirit operates through many would-be leaders today in our government! Mr. Obama is not much better stating not too long ago that if his 15 year old daughters got pregnant, he would not want them to have the “problem” of a child at their age and abortion would be the appropriate response. Those are the words of a man who may very well be the next leader of the free world and yet millions are swooning and fainting at his speeches and words each time he campaigns. Mr. McCain is not much better but has indicated he would at least put judges on the Supreme Court who would be more likely to vote against such hellish laws than to support them.

When the church tells the world that homosexuality is a sin, the CHURCH is then labeled as the hate monger and the divisive one instead of the world seeing the wickedness and evil of homosexuality. Homosexuality is NOT a disease or an alternative lifestyle; homosexuality is a SIN. God calls the practice an “abomination” in His sight and He does not condone it in one shape or iota of fashion. Yet, scores of churches have began to believe that despite the warnings of the prophetic word of God and those with the spirit of Elijah who are warning the nation of the consequences of what will take place if we keep embracing such, they can ordain these type people as their leaders. Trust me. We are not too far away if this trend continues from eventually electing a homosexual President.

Elijah was not the troubler of Israel and the church is not the troubler of America, at least the true church. The apostate church IS a troubler in that it is leading to millions to hell and bringing us closer to judgment unless the nation repents and repents soon!

And in a scene that the most creative Hollywood minds could never come up with, here stood the prophet of God, Elijah, and 850 of Jezebel’s false charlatans, along with Ahab on top of a Mountain where the issue would be “whose God answers by FIRE!?”

1 Kings 18:20

So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

The people and the prophets were sent for; 450 prophets at Samaria (Baal’s prophets) and 400 prophets (Ashtoreth’s prophets) that ate at Jezebel’s table in Jezreel. There is some evidence that because it was Baal’s prophets being challenged, Ashtoreth’s prophets were not present; a passage in 1 Kings 22:6 when Micaiah prophesied in Ahab’s courts and some 400 prophets appeared then, indicate these were the same ones of Jezebel.

I ask the reader a simple but dangerous question. How many so-called prophets in America are “eating at Jezebel’s table?” How many have given into this spirit and prophesy lies to a nation needing desperately to hear the Word of God and needing the rain of heaven to fall in Holy Ghost revival or face utter destruction? How many have given into and succumb to this seducing spirit that causes men to equate righteousness with money and filthy lucre instead of calling the nation to repentance and declaring the Cross as man’s only hope for salvation and righteousness! How many are controlled by the sprit of Jezebel instead of being controlled by the Holy Spirit who alone can deliver the sinner and set the captive free because of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ?!

Elijah’s question to the false gods on Carmel is his rebuke to the modern church today: “how long HALT” you between two opinions?

1 Kings 18:20-21

So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. [21] And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Elijah called upon the people to choose whom they would serve but they refused to speak. They had gathered to see “the show,” but they were not interested in answering the prophet’s serious question concerning their eternal soul. “Halt” means to vacillate and pursue an irregular course. The people was reflected in the people’s indecision as they wavered between serving Yahweh and Baal. It means “double mindedness,” and half-hearted devotion. It also means “limping,” reflecting the peculiar ritual DANCE the false prophets performed, hopping from one leg to another, as they leaped and limped about performing a weird and uncouth dance around the altar.

I ask the reader today: is the church doing any less? Are we not allowing performers into our churches and youth meetings who do nothing than perform demonic dances around the altar making people think they are worshipping the true God when in fact they are worshipping Baal and embracing the spirit of Jezebel? There is a huge reason Jesus warned Thyatira for tolerating such a spirit in its midst because as the Son of God said, “she ‘seduces’ His servants to commit fornication.”

Rev. 2:20 - Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. [21] And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. [22] Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. [23] And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. [24] But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

Is it not anything but rank heresy and blasphemy that we promote lasciviousness in our churches by the entertainment we allow and “suffer” to touch our children and young people? Neighbor, if what is going is not Holy Ghost worship and birthed by the Spirit of God it is the Spirit of Jezebel and it will cause those under its influence to “commit fornication” with the world. Jesus said those who commit adultery with this spirit shall be thrown with her and her children into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. That is a reference to the rapture of these last days. The spirit of Jezebel FIGHTS the message of the SECOND COMING and seeks to replace it with a seducing, false message that we don’t have to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

The people answering Elijah “not a word,” is the noose around the neck of the modern church world today. The world needs answers and it needs answers fast and we “answer them as not a word,” as to the true preaching of the gospel.

The people act as umpires and jury in this contest on Mount Carmel as Elijah builds an altar, an act that is in reality was a type of the Cross and the recipe for what the church world needs today to experience TRUE revival and see a move of God that will do more than cause us to brag about our meetings, but change our hearts forever and bring us into the season of one of the greatest harvests of souls this world has ever known.

1 Kings 18:24

And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answers by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

Elijah taunts the prophets of Baal and mocks their rituals. Instead of us applauding the foolishness in the church world today – we need to be doing the same!! The true prophetic voice does such anyway and is most of the time ridiculed and mocked themselves. I’ll tell you this and this has always been the case in the history of Christianity. That which the church world embraces as “good” is usually an anathema to God and detestable in His sight; while that which the church world calls “detestable,” and rejects, is what God would receive and embrace and accept!

1 Kings 18:27

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

Elijah goes as far as to ask these false prophets is their God, “pursuing,” which means in the Hebrew literally, “Is he on the potty!????” Is he “sleeping?” Is he “talking,” or on a journey, or is he on the “potty!?” With all their dancing, with all their cutting and with all their ritual they could not bring down the fire of God upon Mount Carmel.

1 Kings 18:28

And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

Neighbor, let me assure the reader of this today. All the church’s bloated activity and loud screaming and all its dancing, motion and man-made schemes to bring the fire down – NONE of this will work. We’d be better to go sit on a potty ourselves as to think our spiritual stupidity will do any more than the stupidity of these prophets on Mt. Carmel so long ago. God doesn’t answer by fire because of the flesh! God hates the flesh! God abhors the flesh! God looks at our fleshly activity in His house and it makes Him vomit and regurgitate. I can almost hear His speaking to us today and asking us as Elijah did, “are you gods on the potty?”

The God That Answers By Fire

1 Kings 18:29-32

And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. [30] And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. [31] And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: [32] And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

The false prophets of Baal prophesied falsely and got no answer. The hour was late and Baal could not produce lightning, thunder and had no voice and no clouds! Elijah then draws the people near to himself, and without any fanfare began to do something that the modern church would MUST do if we are to see the fire fall upon our people in these last days!

He Took Twelve Stones, According to The Tribes of Israel, And Repaired The Broken Down Altar of the Lord; He Thus Built an Altar in the Name of the Lord.

The CROSS is man’s only hope for salvation and the CROSS is the only hope for revival in the church! That altar Elijah rebuilt was a type of the Cross of Christ and what was accomplished there 2,000 years ago. It was not a type of the psychologists chair or the counselor’s office, or the Purpose Driven Life module for purpose or the Joel Osteen theology club but it was a type of the CROSS where every single power of darkness was destroyed by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Glory to God.

Paul said he dared not GLORY in anything, save the Cross of Christ. He proclaimed that the message of the Cross was “foolishness” to them who perish but to those are saved, it is the POWER OF GOD unto salvation. It takes POWER to set captives free neighbor and the only source of true power is found when we place our faith totally and completely in the CROSS OF CHRIST!

The 12 stones pointed to UNITY of the tribes of Israel and the promises of Jehovah concerning the nation. ISRAEL and the CROSS are two cornerstones of all sound doctrinal faith in the church today! Israel as a nation is blind to the message of the cross at the present time but one day her eyes will be opened to this message and when she experiences revival, the entire world will see “life from the dead!”

Romans 11:26-28

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: [27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. [28] As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

The altar has been broken down in the house of God! The altar has been broken down in the pulpits of the house of the Lord. The altar is broken down and we must repair it and get back to the preaching and teaching of the Cross of Christ as man’s only hope and salvation! I can assure you that the “Jesus” being promoted by Oprah and Jeremiah Wright is NOT the Jesus of the Bible and their Jesus will never save anyone, never deliver anyone, never set one captive free and never cause fire to fall upon the church of the living God!

2. Elijah built a TRENCH around the altar of God

1 Kings 18:31-32

And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: [32] And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

This trench speaks of “separation,” or a coming out from among the normal system and removing all unclean things in our lives. The separation at Cherith was a separation “unto something,” while this separation on Carmel was a separation “from something.” The church needs this separation “from something” in the worst of ways! It does not do us any good to preach the gospel and then turn around and participate in the world’s swill along with them! We are not like the world! We don’t go the places the world goes; we don’t talk the way the world talks; we don’t sing to the world’s tune; we don’t act the way the world acts; we don’t visit the bars the world visits; we don’t watch the movies the world watches; we don’t wear the clothes the world wears- we are DIFFERENT, SET APART UNTO TO GOD, not in some legalistic sense but in a HOLINESS SENSE!

Hebrews 10:23-31 - Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) [24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. [26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

2 Cor. 7:1-3

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. [2] Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man. [3] I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

Without HOLINESS, no man sees the Lord! This holiness is not legalism, but it is a SEPARATION! Let me give this to you in south Georgia terms. If you’re a child of God you don’t lie anymore! If you’re a child of God you don’t drink anymore! If you’re a child of God you don’t lust and whoremonger anymore. If you’re a child of God you don’t fornicate. You get married and you don’t live together outside the bounds of marriage. You don’t commit adultery. You as a child of God walk in Christian love, forgiving those who wrong you instead of in anger cussing those who do us wrong. As a child of God we handle things honestly and if we make errors in financial matters we do all things to conduct ourselves in an upright and honest manner. We pay our bills and if we don’t have money to pay our bills we do the right thing in working with our creditors to get those paid as much as humanly possible. We don’t cheat or defraud our neighbor. If we can’t afford something we just don’t get it! We don’t live above our means and owe everybody under the sun to in turn not be able to meet our obligations. We live like the children of God we are called to be – the children of LIGHT and we are called to walk WORTHY of this vocation and calling!

Ephes. 5:1-3

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; [2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. [3] But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints;

3. Elijah filled four barrels of water and poured it on the burnt sacrifice

1 Kings 18:33-35

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. [34] And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. [35] And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

The water is a type of the Holy Ghost; the barrels a type of the believer and the burnt sacrifice a type of Christ on the Cross. The church world while preaching the power of the Cross needs to preach the mighty baptism in the Holy Ghost! The HOLY GHOST is not toyed with nor is He bossed around and told what He can or cannot do. If He is treated in such a manner then He leaves and we’re then left to our own man-made schemes and efforts which have produced the mess we see in the church world today!

The reader needs to realize that it was a long way down, 470 feet, to fetch water from the bottom to the top of the mountain. Pouring water signifies repentance and cleansing of sin. Elijah was heightening the drama and suspense of the contest by repeatedly soaking the sacrifice. There were four barrels, filled three times, making 12 barrels of water to be poured on the sacrifice. This was deliberately done to point symbolically to the 12 tribes of Israel as a symbol that national Israel is ONE in the sight of God and will always be His object of blessing. As Israel goes, so goes the Church! As Israel goes, so goes the world!

1 Kings 18:36

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

The contest comes to a head during what the Bible refers to as the evening sacrifice, which took place at about 3 P.M. Elijah came near to pray so that the people could hear him. This was reminiscent of Jesus’ prayer at Lazarus’ tomb in which He prayed out loud for Lazarus to be raised from the dead so that the people could hear him and believe God had sent Him. Elijah, too, desired in his prayer that God would be glorified and his own ministry validated.

His prayer is recorded in verse 37:

1 Kings 18:37

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

The Carmel experience was to “bring their heart back again,” meaning Elijah was praying for revival to come to national Israel unlike it had ever come before. Israel was away from God and needed to see a move of His power that would shake the hearts of those watching this monumental event. Neighbor, America needs the same experience! The American church needs the same experience! The American landscape needs to see a move of God in more ways than this writer can ever record in words. With elections looming upon us in less than six months it has become apparent the nation is in a mood to elect a leader who will pander to their selfish wants and sinful and wicked desires for abortion, homosexuality and other perversions while selling American sovereignty down the toilet to the United Nations or any other global body that may be looming ahead as we near the season of Antichrist.

As Elijah prayed, the fire of God FELL! It fell as lightning from a cloudless sky, on the soaking wet wood and sacrifice, and consumed it. This was proof to the Israelites of God’s existence and power.

1 Kings 18:39

And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

In front of wicked Ahab and every false prophet and demon known to man, the fire of God FELL and nothing could stop it. Neighbor, when the power of the Holy Ghost begins to fall on our churches once again, Satan will not stop it! Backslidden saints won’t stop it. Unbelieving saints won’t stop it. Resistant preachers to the baptism in the Holy Ghost won’t stop it. Oh, Glory to God. THE FIRE OF GOD NEEDS TO FALL and FALL IT WILL ONE MORE TIME before the rapture of the Church.

And when the fire of God fell, the people began to chant what the world is going to chant one day – THE LORD HE IS GOD! In Hebrew rendering the people were saying, “Yahweh, He is Elohim!” Elijah’s demonstration brought the people’s hearts back to the true God! Baal’s impotence was clearly demonstrated from all to see. This context had implications however far beyond Israel, reaching into every corner of the world.

And friend, when the Church of the Living God, allows the fire of God to fall on us once again, the implications will not be just local, but GLOBAL! We will see a move of the Holy Ghost that will not just transform a few churches here or there, He will transform entire nations!

Elijah Slays The Prophets of Baal

1 Kings 18:40-41

And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

[41] And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

Elijah slew all the prophets of Baal, personally. This is a picture of what will happen to ALL who follow Jezebel and her idols, past, present, and future. Friend it’s either repentance and Mt. Carmel or it’s the worship of Jezebel and the idolatry of her spirit.

The prophet had to have some guts! Slaying 450 false prophets by himself showed a power in this man that cannot be put in words but will one day be displayed again to a heathen, decadent society and world during the Great Tribulation when he and a second prophet, probably Enoch, will hold at bay the powers of the Antichrist almost single handedly by the power of their mouth and words literally breathing fire down from heaven upon those who would hurt them.

Poor Ahab sits and watches this wandering what he will have to tell his wicked wife when he gets home that 450 of her prophets are dead, the supernatural fire of the God of heaven fell in front of him, and the drought declared by Elijah was over! It was about to rain! Elijah proclaimed, “there is a SOUND of abundance of rain,” to the wicked king in prophetic type of what is coming to planet Earth when the fire of God falls. That’s the pattern- rebuild the altar, bring the Cross back to the core of our faith, and watch the fire of God fall and the rain begin to pour over millions of souls in these last days before Jesus comes. Neighbor, we are sitting on such a precipice! We are living in such prophetic times! Glory to God.

This contest between Elijah and Jezebel was just beginning. What happened on Mt. Carmel was great, but what took place next in the life of the prophet was not so great as he wound up in a cave shortly after this wanting to die. We will deal with that experience in the next journal.
