Over time some vital truths have disappeared from view.  These wonderful snippets are quick and easy to digest. They are "sermons in a nutshell". All include Scripture references

On the day of Pentecost Peter's sermon saved 3,000. Unfortunately, these days we sometimes see it in the complete reverse, that is, that it takes 3,000 sermons to get a single soul saved! Isn't it amazing what we've lost on the way.

These powerful insights are provided to you free by faith. Enjoy!

That you must be born again to enter the kingdom of God.

This means that you must be conceived spiritually by the Holy Spirit. Paul prayed that "Christ would again be formed " in the  Galatians. You must also receive the full baptism* . John 3.3, Acts 1.8

* This was also the belief of the Azusa Street Mission Ed.

Considering others as more important than yourself.

Only the Holy Spirit can make you feel this way and yet this is the seed of ministry.

Phil 2.3

That we should be meek and lowly in heart like Jesus was.

Get rid of your own self-importance and win the prize. And in this case, everyone can be a winner!

Matt 11.29

That we should not only turn the other cheek but also pray for your enemies just as Jesus did.

A brother called Irish Lee did this when attacked on the way to the Azusa Street mission. When they tried to hit the other cheek they were supernaturally propelled back about 20 meters and ran away scared for their life. Two nights later they both were seen at the mission praying for their own salvation. Maybe this one was always a promise ... in disguise!

Matt 5.39-34

That lusting in our thoughts is the same as doing.

This dangerous activity is like a cancer of faith. Want your eyes poked out. Learn from the parable of Sampson. He too was a man of power!

Matt 5.28

The apostasy begins inside those that originally walked with Christ but ...

... in the end they preferred their personal opinions ahead of direct leadership. John 6.66

Ed. How easy it is to become religious and miss the plan of God!

That pride, jealousy and envy all come from the seeds of self importance.

As soon as you see that importance growing inside you cut it down quick. It throttles 'good' plants.

Luke 11.37-53

Everything in the spiritual realm revolves around the Cross of Christ.

It finalized the positions of the spiritual "authorities". But to be in authority you must already be under authority.

Gal 6.14

That the devil attempts to use scripture to tempt you to try to make God's promises work.

But only God makes his promises work. Just believe, watch and see. It definitely can't be done in your own strength. Let the Spirit do it and the fireworks begin.

Matt 4.1-11

That the strongholds of sin can be overcome in reality for those in union with the Spirit.

If you don't have any intention to stop sinning you never will. The Holy Spirit power-union with a Christian provides an opportunity to live in it but if you never stop sinning ... you'll never find out.

2 Cor 10.4

That God looks on the heart and does not judge by the outer appearance.

Natural man always looks to the outward. But the cleansing of the outside of the cup will never be enough in itself.

1 Sam 16.7, Matt 23:25

That God is a Spirit

... and our only contact with him, in this age, is directly on that level.

John 4.23

Do not be conformed to this world  ... This was directed to the Spirit-baptized  believer.

Turn the TV on and get conformed overnight! The worlds smorgasbord is 100% lust of the flesh, 100% lust of the eyes, 100% pride of life with a little 'deceitfulness of riches' leaven thrown in to the mix. Want an obstacle course on your way to successful faith, this is exactly how to find one.

Rom 12.2

That these signs... healing, deliverance and speaking in tongues will follow everyone who believes.

Some think this is only for the chosen few. Not so at Azusa Street .. it seemed like everyone could.

Mark 16.1

That no one who is walking in the flesh can please God.

Spirit meets with spirit ...the flesh is not even on the same wavelength.

Rom 8.8
